A personal best for me with Cally and a qualifying score for both working towards WEG. I felt so proud to see the Aussie flag and hear our anthem. Got quite emotional. For those of you who are over 60…. never give up on your dreams… and of course those younger too.
Mary Hanna & Calanta Win Deauville CDI3* With Highest Grand Prix Score for Rider Outside Australia
DEAUVILLE, France, July 21, 2017–Australia’s Mary Hanna posted her highest ever Grand Prix score outside Australia when she rode Calanta to victory in the CDI3* in only the third Big Tour competition for the 10-year-old mare.
Mary, a five-time Olympian for Australia, and the KWPN mare that she began competing in Europe two months ago, scored 72.020 per cent for the win. The only higher Grand Prix score for Mary in a quarter century competing outside Australia as well as at home was 72.521 per cent at a CDI3* in Orange, Australia in February 2015.
She also placed sixth on Boogie Woogie, the 11-year-old KWPN gelding she rode on the Australian team at the Rio Olympic Games last year.
Mary, based in Australia but who competes frequently in Europe and occasionally in the United States, performed in their first Grand Prix in France in May and their second Big Tour in the Netherlands in June. Report: Dressage News
